AIX / Linux / Unix Systems Engineer at Whippany

Our client is seeking an AIX / Linux / Unix Systems Engineer in Whippany, New Jersey (NJ).

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure life cycle management of infrastructure operating environments, clustering layered products like HACMP, GPFS


• Infrastructure hygiene and best practices implementation across the environment.


• Managing key metrics and reporting for WIMM Call / Governance


• Ensure high reliability, availability and usability of systems


• First point of contact to support a designated business group with responsibility for one or more of the following: root cause analysis, change management, incident management (coaching, docum, QA, training/cert., oversight of incident ops, governance, tools, process, crisis mgmt), problem management, service improvement, internal/external customer file transmission design, discovery/gathering/documenting of business needs and requirements, business communication

Qualifications:

• 7+ years supporting AIX / Linux / Unix and Dell / HP / Sun hardware in a large-scale 1000+ servers) environment
