Commodity Manager at Bloomfield

Job Description:

My client is looking for a Commodity Manager who, with little supervision, will have the ability to support the full life cycle procurement system within the entire companys enterprise. This is a growing company which thrives in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will need to have strong attention to detail, multi-task, and have the ability to shift priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Will create commodity business plans in order to be proactive in the business needs of the company and create commodity teams to span across the community of the company to drive spend leverage.
• Will function as the lead in all problem / conflict resolution in relation to suppliers, continuous improvement and contract/agreement interpretation.
• Must have the ability to lead a cross-functional forward thinking team that will include representatives from internal customers, finance and suppliers.
• Initiates communication with internal/external partners to recognize opportunities and influence accordingly.
• Will gather very complex information and figures and develop reports to make results transparent
• Guides the initiation and action of complex procurement strategies.
• Obtains quotes, requisitions, approvals, and purchase orders and procures commodities and services for company needs and projects.
• Negotiates lease returns or buyouts.
• Prepares RFPs/RFQs
• Maintains accurate data in the Oracle

Requirements:

• The candidate must have a Bachelors degree and 7 years related experience, MBA preferred
• Consumable purchasing experience required, manufacturing background preferred
• Ability to communicate with people both in the office and in the field
• Must be proficiency in Inventory, Word processing, and Contact Management software
• Must have strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Comfortable with change and shifting priorities
• CPM certification preferred
