Maintech has delivered IT Infrastructure Support Services (ISS) to the most demanding clients around the world. Maintech supports servers, storage and network devices from all major OEMS with services ranging from on-site hardware maintenance and server administration, to Remote NOC Monitoring and Managed Services. Maintechs ISS program is recognized as the premier, comprehensive service offering in the independent IT services marketplace. Maintech currently has an opening as a Data Center Technician in Somerset/Piscataway New Jersey.Provides support in a 24x7x365 days/year role that monitors, configures, and supports critical network elements using real time alarming of network faults, analysis, configuration, notification, trending of faults and escalation.Manages installation requests from initiation to closure. Allocates rack position for Equipment installation. Accepts delivery of Equipment from staging. Assembles Equipment from component parts. Schedules movers to coordinate movement of Equipment between rooms, floors and buildings. Opens work requests with Data Center cabling group. Co-ordinates scheduling of Equipment and delivery of Equipment to installation location. Tests all connections and make all final connections not made by electricians. Labels all Equipment front and rear. Performs walk thru with Comm. Room Group cabling group ad required to assist installations. Prepare customer turnover package. Acts as on-site contract for in vendor walk through for Data Centers. Performs turnover walkthroughs with customers. Supports Equipment go live. Acts as on-site contact for in hours circuit deliveries. Tests and accepts all delivered circuits. Opens work request to cabling group for circuit extensions. Supports, troubleshoots and perform break fix work in conjunction with DCS, vendor and customers. Ensure Hot Spares are at proper configuration on daily basis. Performs quality assurances tests according to specifications. Update Inventory database each time a device is visited. Performs inventories of Equipment in Comm. Room. Supports Building Power downs when required. The candidate must be technically familiar with networking concepts in general and have an expert level knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol Ethernet network connection technologies Working knowledge of Leased lines, ISDN, DS-1,DS-3, POTS connectivity Knowledge of Cat-5/6 and various types of fiber cabling-Installation and Testing Good communication and interpersonal skills Good presentation, oral and written skillsJob Requirements
Knowledge of Windows Server OS 2 4 years experience performing as a Helpdesk Analyst or 2 years equivalent experience with a 2 year college coursework (degree preferred) Defined experience in troubleshooting issues in a Windows OS based server environment Understanding/experience with monitoring tools Good problem solving skills and techniques Ability to respond quickly and systematically to issues as they arise.
