Compassionate Care Hospice (CCH) is a privately owned company that was formed 17 years ago and now operates Hospice and Palliative Care programs in over 50 locations across the country. Our professional staff provides services in the home, in long-term care/skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and in hospitals. We are actively seeking a full time On-Call Nurse to cover Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union counties for the Clifton office.  The primary goal of the On-Call nurse is to implement the overall plan of care for each patient in conjunction with the attending physician and case manager, after normal business hours of operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Ongoing communication with attending physician, the Clinical Coordinator and other personnel to ensure updates on all pertinent patient condition changes/needs.
• Takes “call" as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator including weekends and holidays as dictated by organizational needs.

 

 

 

 

  

 

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to function independently without supervision and be capable of making decisions when necessary. He/she will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), possess excellent nursing judgement and be able to travel to visit patients when necessary.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure by state board in the state of NJ.
• 2 years of general nursing experience preferred. Hospice experience preferred but not required.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and “off hours" and to meet weekend, holiday and on-call work requirements. Must have own vehicle which has current insurance as well as valid drivers license.
