Job Description

Insurance client is looking for a Sr level JAVA developer who has experience working with Rational Application Developer (RAD 7) AND WebSphere application server (WAS).

PERM Salary - 90k to 100k (DOE)

Position Key Responsibilities:

This position will play a critical role in the support and enhancements of highly visible, strategically significant commercial systems.

Candidate responsibilities include all aspects of application development, support and implementation,

including data analysis, detailed technical design, coding, and testing. .

This position requires a person who can independently lead / implement assignments as a hands-on expert,

providing technical and business expertise on the use of data; designing, developing, and implementing

solutions that will meet the business need.

Identify and remove implementation impediments and/or production issues

Optimize the production application by identifying and executing performance tuning activities

Required Work Experience and Skills:

Strong, in-depth technical Java experience (5 - 7+ years) required (MUST have RAD experience)

Expertise required in the following areas: Java, J2EE, JSF, EJB, Rational Application Developer (RAD 7

WebSphere application server (WAS), JUNIT, XML, MQ, web services, JavaScript, Struts

Strong understanding of various RDBMS like ORACLE, DB2, SQL Server etc.

Strong SQL programming skills with ability to write complex SQL statements and tune existing SQL for better

performance

Ability to develop and implement the technical specification

Experience with Clearcase (or other Software Configuration Versioning tool)

Expertise with design patterns
