Job Description

System Administrator in a Corporate FP&A function to support Corporate Data Warehouse and Cognos 8/10 reporting environment. The Product Reporting group provides Sales, Cost and related selling expenses reporting for internal and external analysis using Cognos as its principle reporting tool.  This person will assume responsibilities for administering, securing and developing new reporting tools in Cognos with the assistance of the other analysts and system developer.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  Develop new reporting and analysis using Cognos 8/10 tools; Maintain related SQL procedures used by Product Reporting in support of the Sr. Programmer/ Developer.

  Streamline and simplify existing product reporting processes to increase overall data warehouse efficiency. 

  Maintain the security and development of the Cognos system.  Ensure system is up to date with current patches, and development. 

  Provide system troubleshooting in response to user issues.

  Monitor and resolve all system issues serving as the point person working with IT and consultants to troubleshoot the system. 

  Monitor the Cognos application servers and perform routine maintenance and tuning to ensure adequate performance and availability. 

  Assist FP&A analysts with monthly data reconciliations.

  Manage distribution of all push reports.  Ensuring complete distributions and archival of daily and monthly reports from Cognos.

  Proactively research and implement system enhancements and additional functionality and take steps to actively manage system stability.

Job Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

Education:

  Bachelors degree in MIS, Finance, Mathematics, etc. or related work experience

Certifications:

  Cognos 8/10 administrator certification or strong work experience, SQL 2005+ Certification a plus

Experience:

  3-5 years experience in a system developer/administrator role supporting the Finance Organization

  Strong Cognos 8/10 Administration experience

  Strong Microsoft SQL Programming experience required

  Very Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  Ability to work with others on projects, understand and interpret business requirements and turn them into technical requirements is highly desired.

  Background in finance or accounting a plus

  Experience creating/developing new analyses and reporting tools from conception

  Understanding and application of Statitstical Methods in a Finanace role a plus

  Strong MS Office skills including: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.

  Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical expertise using nomenclature they are familiar withExperience using an ETL tool (Talend, Informatica, Datastage, etc.) a plus

  Programming in HTML, Java and XML a plus

  Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
