ASCO Valve, Inc., a division of Emerson Electric and the worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of solenoid valves has an opportunity for a 6 month temp-to-perm Network Engingeer in our Florham Park Office.

We are looking for a Network Engineer that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. This person will help design, implement, and maintain networks. Primary responsibility is to ensure that theVMware, SAN and Cisco infrastructure is managed effectively and that processes and procedures are developed to maintain the integrity of the Firms Data.

Primary responsibilities:

• Install, support, and maintain both physical and virtual network servers and appliances.
• Responsible for backup and network related disaster recovery planning and readiness
• Installation and administration of remote access including Citrix Server Farm and VPNs.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot the Storage Area Networks (SANs) at multiple locations.Support high availability applications and databases using MSSQL 2005/2008.
• Network design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting in LAN WLAN and WAN environments
• Monitor and manage network hardware, software, and equipment including routers, switches, wireless access points, teleconferencing equipment, UPS, KVM switches etc.
• Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
• Maintains Availability and Capacity Plan ensuring current and future needs.
• Create, maintain and publish comprehensive documentation for operational procedures of all systems.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Interface with vendors to evaluate new products/services. Manage vendor support contracts.

Job Requirements

• BA/BS in Information Systems or related area plus 3-5 years related experience is required. Equivalent business experience with significant IS/IT certification may be considered in place of a degree.
• Working knowledge of VMware infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of HP and Dell SAN environment.
• In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Server 2003/2008, windows 7/XP and associated products.
• Experience performing system and software backups and recoveries.
• Ability to analyse technical challenges and approaches solutions in a systematic fashion.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Strong analytical and organization skills, along with strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work alone or as a flexible and adaptable team player.
• Knowledge of Appassure,SharePoint and Websense is a plus.
• Willingness to travel on work assignments, on a need-basis.
