Responsibilities

You will be a key member of HQ planning team, leading the evolution effort of VZW network toward LTE/IMS and various VoLTE initiatives. You will have the opportunities to lead the architecture evolution and planning effort of IMS voice-core infrastructure and application platforms, as well as work on new access technologies. As a subject matter expert, you will also provide technical leadership and provide direction to vendors and internal organizations. In this role, you will

• Work with equipment vendors to develop requirements, features, methods, and tools to support development and deployment effort.

• Work with cross-functional team including Maintenance Engineering, PDI, and Area planners on network initiatives and feature development projects.
• Develop planning, engineering and implementation guidelines, and provide direction for platform evolution
• Research/evaluate new technologies and translate business objectives and strategies into viable plans.
• Conduct feasibility analysis and vendor evaluation, develop project plans, drive IOT, manage contract/vendors, lead HLD effort, and support deployment.

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

Successful candidates should possess in-depth working knowledge of IMS/LTE network, and excellent inter-personal skills (influencing others to get things done)

• Self-starter, ability to complete project with minimal guidance
• Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Expert knowledge pertaining to wireless network infrastructure, vendors and their products.
• In-depth working knowledge in wireless technologies and protocols including SIP, RTP, SCP, STP, SS7, AIN, EVDO, CDMA, LTE, IMS, Mobile IP, circuit switching, and VoIP architecture
• Experience in IMS network planning or deployment
• Experience in cloud-computing/virtualization technologies
• Experience in documenting call flows, calculating system and transport forecasts, and performing capacity analysis.
• Experience in vendor management and coordination of multiple vendors to deploy services
• The ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to perform independent system analysis, design and plan implementation. Pay attention to details and quality objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Prior working experience on CSCF/TAS/SCG/MRF platforms is a plus

Education:

• BS EE/Computer Science or equivalent education and technical background preferred.
• MS EE/Computer Science or equivalent highly desired.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in cellular/wireless industry or related discipline.
