Sr. Business Analyst at Parsippany

Job Description

To assist the Manager of Data Analytics with the preparation and analysis of internal and external data to support Sales and Marketing objectives.  The output from the analysis is used to help set sales strategy, product strategy and sales performance goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

 

  • Assist in the preparation of OCM’s Diagnostic Management Program packages utilizing customer’s historical claims payment data.

 

  • Receive, scrub and filter large data files from OCM’s partners using Excel, MS Access and the Ingenix Access suite of mapping products.

 

  • Prepare aggregate documentation of various analyses that includes charts, graphics and commentary for internal and external audiences.

 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a database to store customer claims payment files.

 

  • Discuss and evaluate analysis results with internal and external business partners.

 

  • Produce maps and analyses comparing the OCM radiology network to other networks or facilities.

 

  • Develop innovative ideas related to how other OCM business areas can utilize specific data.

 

  • Develop new applications utilizing the customer claims payment data to create additional competitive advantages for One Call Medical.

 

  • Contact customers as needed to clarify data structure or data elements.

 

  • Consult/interface with the Sales Team on the analysis of data and production of reports to ensure appropriate understanding of data and output.

 

  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as needed.

 

  • Other job and position-related duties that may be assigned by management.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Bachelor degree is preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred PC SAS programming 2- 3 years’ experience or programming background.
  • Experience coding and testing with VBA controls and preparing customer reports both in MS Excel and MS Access 
  • Must be able to create tables, develop and run queries and prepare ad hoc reports in MS Access.
  • Must be able to create and customize macros as well as incorporate VBA controls in MS Excel.
  • Must be able to prepare customized reports based on internal and external business requirements.
  • Must be able to proofread completed assignments for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment with demanding turnaround times.
  • Must be able to multi-task on various requests that often have competing deadlines. 
  • Must be able to learn and use new software as required.
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
