Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a full-time, Resources Efficiency Manager (REM) individual to provide energy management services to NAVAIR at the Lakehurst, NJ site.

The selected candidate will work on site at the customer’s facility to provide duties which will include analyzing energy and utilities cost and consumption data for the client’s facilities; developing and sustaining an active, engaged network of Building Energy Monitors; identifying, investigating and helping to correct energy and water use anomalies; developing facilities energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, including life cycle cost analysis and supporting documentation; providing energy awareness and training services; performing design reviews as required; recommending improvements to operations & maintenance procedures to save energy; conducting or supporting comprehensive energy audits; performing technical studies and investigations; and otherwise helping to reduce energy and water costs and consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and attain federal and Navy goals. The candidate will supplement existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be a full-time, on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings.

The ideal candidate will have 4 - 10 plus years of experience in energy management/engineering is required. A strong HVAC background and experience with Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA)-compliant energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, commissioning, and system optimization are desired. Must be able to demonstrate a record of success in energy management or engineering. Previous experience working at Federal / DOD facilities, particularly in Naval facilities, is a plus.

This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with top leadership, scientists, engineers, facility managers, technicians and other client personnel in a mission-focused military environment. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to produce results. Must have ability to recognize energy conservation opportunities through data analysis, observation, discussion and other input and develop practical, cost-effective solutions. Must have knowledge of best energy management practices, energy and utility technologies, including metering; excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly developed interpersonal and presentation skills; and proficient computer skills, including the use of Excel spreadsheets, and other typical office applications.

BS in mechanical engineering or energy-related technical field is desired but other, directly-related education and experience may also be considered. Certified Energy Manager Certification is preferred or must have the ability to obtain.

This position requires selected candidate to possess U.S. citizenship and be able to obtain security clearance.

The work environment will consist of an office environment as well as frequent field visits in and around facility sites. You must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. You must be able to climb ladders/access roofs/access narrow mechanical rooms.
