Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the accurate analysis, forecast and maintenance of product inventory to satisfy sales and demand. Adverse effects of inventory levels, whether too little or too much on hand, reflect in lost revenues to the company. This position is limited in its application of authority by management practices and corporate policy. This position analyzes, coordinates and implements efficient inventory management system for the US and Canada. This position involves planning, analyzing sales forecasts, coordinating production and shipments from manufacturing locations, analyzing and coordination of purchases from outside local US vendors. This position works closely with sales management during new product introduction and related inventory control matters.

Job Details:

1. Associate is responsible to follow requirements of TMC Quality System; including but not limited to requirements for traceability of product, recognizing customer complaints and the requirement to forward information to QA.

2. Possess the ability to conduct multiple assessment process to analyze complex issues.

3. Analyze sales forecasts to maintain the purchase plan.

4. Participate in monthly Sales and Operations Planning Process.

5. Develop a purchase plan for all products and initiate purchases of products from Terumo manufacturing sites and inventory items purchased from local vendors.

6. Monitor receipt of inventory from manufacturing sites, communicate discrepancies and resolve problems.

7. Communicate with sales management any production issues, promotional activity, stock availability and forecasts.

8. Interact with Customer Administration on stock availability for Domestic and Export.

9. Act as a liaison between shipping/ receiving and all functional areas related to any inventory issues.

10. Review open order/backorder report, slow moving report and short expiring reports and take necessary action to increase inventory turnover and reduce inventory write-off.

11. Monitor sample request. Reviews sample report and release orders.

12. Provide direction, guidance, and leadership to the cross functional teams related to service, inventories, demand and supply planning, transportation and distribution issues. Also review procedures and policies established by TMC Corporate office and assure appropriate communications to all affected associates.

13. Participate on new product launch teams, providing input on scheduling and resource allocation.

14. Participate in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods of processes for unit/company performance improvement.

15. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Background Experience

Requires a B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or similar.

APICS certification is preferred.

Minimum of 4 years experience in Supply Chain.

Must have prior experience managing inventories.

Must demonstrate the ability to work with all functions and levels within the organization.

Must be analytical in thought and able to problem solve complex tasks.

Strong Excel skills are desired.

JD Edwards experience in an MRP environment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

A proven track record of delivering supply chain excellence with impact to bottom line results, operating profit, expenses and inventory efficiency. Applies business insight (e.g., knowledge of the business strategy and goals, external industry dynamics, etc.) to deliver more effective performance.

Position requires a high energy level, ability to work long hours when needed and a bias for action. A high level of customer service focus, the financial acumen necessary to manage expenses, inventory and staff.

Focuses self and team on meeting customer needs, both internal and external, and establishing that as a key metric of success.

Acts to build an open team environment, reinforcing honesty and welcoming input even when it challenges ones own point of view.
