Our client, aglobal manufacturing company in the food/vitamin/consumer prodcuts industry is looking for a Controller to join their growing team. Reporting to the VP, Finance and supervising a team of 5-7 finance professionals, the Controller will be responsible for the companys accounting, treasury and financial day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to produce timely, accurate and reliable financial information including: P&L balance sheet accounts & general ledger, Accounts receivable and payable, reconciliations of accounts, fixed asset register, capital expenditure, cost accounting, reporting, tax computations and more.
Responsible and assist in defining the work methods and work plans to ensure efficient flow of payments to all suppliers, invoices to customers and reports to management.
Daily treasury function including reconciliation and reporting on cash accounts.
Major contributor to the accurate and timely preparation of monthly & quarterly close operating results against budget: monitor all finance aspects with responsibility for financial reporting,
Ensure compliance with local state and federal budgetary reporting requirements. Identify and resolve accounting control issues and Quarterly and year end audits by preparing schedules and providing data to external auditors.
Responsible to develop and maintain financial procedures and control for the company and enhance the companys accounting procedures by continuously seek out and recommend ways to improve productivity and automate processes.
Ad hoc project work or other tasks as necessary or assigned.
Ensure staff is motivated to improve the efficiency of their current duties and have clearly identified goals as well as understanding what they must accomplish to advance within the company.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related discipline is a must
CPA preferred
5+ years experience, at least 3 in a manufacturing company in a must.
Proven experience and knowledge in accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis and reporting.
Experience working with an ERP system (Oracle- preferred)
Highly responsible, very detailed oriented and organized
Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to gain cooperation of others
Team player, can-do attitude, flexible, self-motivated
Managerial and leadership skills and experience.
Excellent MS Excel skills
Experience with Cognos
