SIU Manager - Fire and Theft at Bridgewater

Job Description

Esurance is seeking Managers for the Special Investigation Unit - Fire & Theft team!

As a Manager you will manage special investigation unit (SIU) team and conduct specialized investigation units for insurance fraud exposure. This role also provides subject matter expertise for assigned investigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts assigned investigations in accordance with SIU protocols and performance expectations.
  • Works with claims staff on conducting suspicious claim investigations
  • Manages the SIU database to insure timely assignments of referrals and accurate tracking of data to identify trends.
  • Develops investigation programs to combat all identified areas of possible insurance fraud activities.
  • Performs analytical and monthly quality reviews/audits per SIU policy and monthly reporting on results; Communicates fraud trends and patterns to stakeholders.
  • Manages SIU outside vendors including private investigators and accident reconstruction experts.
  • Keeps up to date on fraud trends to educate staff on detection and suspicious indicators.
  • Participates in the establishment of department goals and for implementing procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; Manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of department staff directly
  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.
  • Possess specialized knowledge in fire and theft investigations

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal (SIU and claims management) and external customers (Vendors, law enforcement agencies, and industry experts).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service and solid negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs.
  • Technically proficient in the area of insurance investigations especially with automobile related investigations
  • Extensive knowledge in all areas of claims handling required.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 25%


Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, a related field, and/or equivalent education required.
  • Certified Esurance Claims PBC Sr Investigator preferred.
  • Five years of special investigation unit insurance and/or auto claims management experience required. Two years of supervisory/people management experience preferred.
  • Prior auto insurance claims adjusting and/or investigation experiences preferred.
