Prudential International Insurance (PII) currently has operations in ten countries around the world. PII is the Newark-based department responsible for providing leadership, support and training for the International Insurance operations, as well as partnering with Prudential Corporate groups.

PII is creating a new position that will report to the Head of the Pricing Unit with a dotted-line to the Leader of Global Product Management and will primarily be responsible for leading the idea creation, product development and pricing of innovative Retirement products in emerging markets. The individual will work closely with regional and country level Product Development, Marketing and Actuarial teams providing strategic direction, guidance, training, and consulting services on the product development, pricing and risk management for these types of products.

Responsibilities

Product Development/Pricing/Risk Management

• Coordination and collaboration with local teams and within PII to brainstorm, generate and evaluate new Retirement product ideas
• Understand our market positioning and competitiveness, as well as trends in outside markets, and help develop and implement Retirement product strategies to compete successfully in each country
• Drive growth of Retirement business globally in alignment with strategic objectives
• Understand profitability of new products and help balance customer/producer/company interests in developing sources of profitable growth and communicate these tradeoffs to management
• Lead periodic product development meetings ensuring appropriate communication between local teams and Home Office functions
• Provide technical guidance in the development and/or enhancement of new Retirement products
• Provide education and sharing of best practices within PII and the countries to grow our technical Retirement skill set
• Oversee development, enhancement of pricing models and assumption development as needed to help drive innovative product strategies and new product development
• Partner with other departments to develop risk mititigation strategies for new products and risks including collaborating with PII Investment team on investment strategies
• Work with Risk Management to gain new product approvals

Job Requirements

• FSA (or equivalent) designation with 3+ years of Retirement product development experience
• In depth knowledge of Retirement product designs, risk management considerations, and pricing methods
• Strong leadership skills and business acumen
• Open minded, innovative and strategic thinker
• Self starter, highly motivated with a focus on profitable growth
• Creative problem solver and strong project management skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to influence senior management
• Strong quantitative and analytical skill set
• Superior knowledge of financial modeling and experience developing pricing models
• International experience and relevant language skills preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently with country product and actuarial teams
• International travel will be necessary (approximately 25%)
