Global Data - Japanese Localization Editor at Princeton

The Role:

Bloomberg has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Japanese Localization Editor. As part of our global Localization team you will be responsible for providing high quality Japanese language products such as analytical tools, marketing materials, company information and online helps to our local clients. Responsibilities include editing of Japanese language content for grammar, fluency, usage, consistency and accuracy in a fast paced environment; creation and enforcement of comprehensive style guides, linguistic development of translators, facilitation of discussion on terminology and style within the Japanese team. You will work closely with translators, sales teams, data analysts, programmers and other editors to adapt our product for the local markets. Join our growing global localization team that supports Bloomberg sales efforts by providing products for the Japanese speaking markets.

Responsibilities:

-Comprehensive editing localized contents for grammar, fluency, usage, consistency, accuracy and style in a fast-paced environment

-Meet deadlines and function professionally under deadline pressure

-Works in a team environment with multiple translators, facilitates discussion among translators to reach consensus in Japanese translations

-Archive and enforce style guides

-Other responsibilities include keeping current with financial industry knowledge and trend in modern Japanese writing style

Qualifications:

- Bilingual in Japanese and English with native level fluency in Japanese.

- Strong and proven editorial knowledge with 7+ years of editing and translation experience; preferred in financial service industry

- Comprehensive understanding of current Japanese business and financial terminology

-Proven leadership abilities are essential, including excellent oral and written communication skills

-Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to multi-task and to deliver under changing deadlines

-Ability to work independently, as well as closely with translators in a team-oriented environment

-Excellent computer skills and MS Office Suite knowledge
