Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for creating statistical models and conducting Statistical Analysis of Returns and Defects of high volume returns data by analyzing weekly trends in collaboration with CRTC and OEM teams. Prioritize high impact return rate or defect rate items that need more detailed investigation and request, OEM, or 3rd party support where needed.
Collect data on customer return drivers (disposition results, customer care remarks, call logs, device histories, speech analytics and social media forums) and compile this information into prioritized return drivers. The statistical analyst will help to generate a list of the top return drivers within their product portfolio (based on cost) and emerging issues that are trending to be significant cost drivers.
Assist and initiate actions to reduce returns. The trend analyst will be required to communicate the statistical significance and details of return drivers to cross functional technical teams
Statistically evaluate the effectiveness of return reduction initiatives and generate information to assist with experimental plans to evaluate the effectiveness of return reduction alternatives and proposals.
Work closely with analysts to improve the speed and effectiveness of return reduction initiatives. This includes developing reports to monitor and diagnose rep, call center and device related performance.
The trend analyst will gather data to assist in developing automation processes to scrape return driver information for a wide variety of sources (disposition results, remarks, speech analytics, devices histories, etc.)
Apply data mining techniques to define and develop quality tracking metrics to reduce NTFs.
Create a statistical model based on observed pre-commercial and post-launch faults in the devices. Use statistical model to predict faults and device quality. Establish fault prediction method, ongoing tracking method and fault targets.
Create new test processes, obtain consensus on new test processes from internal Verizon stakeholders, manage proof of concept/pilot programs to validate the effectiveness of new models, maintain metrics related to test cost, test time and relevant post launch data and correlate to fault model.
Trend Analysis – 50%
- Monitor key device quality metrics to identify and flag issues
- Monitor key device quality metrics and feedback to quality improvement
- Perform data mining from device logs to identify and diagnose root cause of key return drivers
- Data collection from OEMs, test labs, return center, quality center
- Champion rollout of best practices to monitor success of new testing methodologies from both a cost and quality perspective
Test Process – 30%
- Work closely with the internal and external teams to help develop statistical model s to determine new testing methodologies
- Create pilot test programs and validate the effectiveness
- Create new test processes to improve device quality and reduce test cost
- Socialize any new test processes with test teams
