Job Description
The Sr. Manager for Technical Accounting will monitor, interpret and implement new accounting standards under US GAAP.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
1. Monitoring, interpreting and implementing new accounting standards under US GAAP.
2. Ad hoc review of technical accounting matters and preparation of position papers.
3. Oversight of the companys global accounting policies.
4. Certain accounting and disclosure requirements for stock-based compensation and pensions.
5. Interaction with the companys external auditors.
6. Review of quarterly narrative and fluctuation analyses.
7. Preparation of annual goodwill impairment test.
8. Participation in business continuity planning and process evaluation.
Sarbanes Oxley Responsibilities Include:
1. Oversight of the corporate Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process.
2. Assist with Sarbanes Oxley testing and documentation of key accounting controls.
3. Assist with maintenance and updating of corporate accounting procedures.
Other Responsibilities Include:
1. Provide ad hoc analysis for the Financial Planning & Analysis Group pertaining to annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
2. Oversight of annual 401(k) plan audit and filing of SEC Form 11K.
3. Monitoring of global performance metrics related to key strategic alliances.
Job Requirements
Education/Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting, MBA is preferred.
- CPA (active license).
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience: minimum of five years with Big 4 accounting firm, followed by a minimum of three years in a technical accounting or equivalent role with a publicly traded company.
- Must have attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at high levels within the organization.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with internal control design and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Intermediate / advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Working knowledge of Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Team player / good interpersonal skills.
- Experience with PeopleSoft financial system a plus.
