As a Team Leader, you’ll support the management team in all aspects of service, quality, cleanliness, labor, costs, production, and maintenance for the restaurant during the assigned shift.  Not only will you be accountable for fulfilling the role of a supervisor, you must also be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of a cook, line server, and cashier.

Job Requirements

  • One year of previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Create guest orders as requested and ensure the accuracy and quality of each order.
  • Pays careful attention to presentation of food both on the line and incoming (e.g. pulls plastic wrap off items before coming to the line).
  • Contribute to managing the overall physical restaurant.
  • Ensures product is being prepared at peak volume periods.  Encourages sampling of fresh product.
  • Adhere to food safety standards and report any questionable food deliveries and/or practices.
  • Helps control food and labor costs by monitoring sales, productivity and product and making necessary adjustments.
  • Oversees the preparation and creation of food according to specifications by using approved recipes, proper portioning, and food prep logs/tools.
  • Conduct regular visual and taste tests to ensure food is of highest quality and prepared according to specs.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Qdoba menu offerings and flavor profiles.
  • Suggest appropriate flavor combinations and menu complements to enhance the quality of the guests experience.
  • Interact with and engage guests and other Team Members. 
  • Coordinate activities of workers to ensure overall guest satisfaction which includes service, quality and cleanliness.
  • Holds pre-shift/post-shift meetings with crew.
  • Be able to address and resolve guest and employee complaints
  • Assist in the training, retaining, and motivating of restaurant personnel
  • Ability to communicate in English is required.  Spanish comprehension is helpful.  Fundamental reading, writing, math and computer /POS skills are required.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

     Responsible for managing administrative procedures of the restaurant during a given shift.

    • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
    • Must meet the minimal criteria in background check
    • Age requirements may apply in order to remain in compliance with State and Federal laws
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required
    • Fast-paced restaurant environment
    • Must be able to act appropriately during crisis and work well in stressful situations
    • Must successfully complete the in-house Shift Supervisor training program
    • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Required to operate/access equipment set at standard heights, while walking or standing during entire shift
    • Must reach, bend, stoop, lift, wipe and climb
    • Some repetitive motion may be required
    • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, sometimes extending beyond eight-hours, based upon local operating hours
    • Must have access to adequate transportation and complete the administrative driving requirement
    • Employee will often work in a hot environment with heavy and sometimes heated equipment
    • Hazards include, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, burns, cuts, abrasions and falls.
