Senior ITS Manager at Hamilton

Job Description

Michael Baker Jr., Inc. is seeking a Discipline Manager to oversee ITS design efforts to join our growing Hamilton, NJ office.

 

The ideal candidate must have experience as a data communications network engineer and project manager responsible for wireless, fiber optic, and/or video surveillance data communication network design projects for Intelligent Transportation System facilities (variable message signs, CCTV cameras, ramp metering, interconnected traffic signal systems, etc.).  In addition to project and staff management, the position requires a technical working knowledge of the technology and integration with existing systems, codes and standards such as the NEC, electrical safety code, and NYC building code as it pertains to data communications work.  Successful candidate will have the capability to lead design teams, perform project design and reviews, perform business development, perform project management and interact with contractors when required.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a similar degree required. 

• 10+  years of experience in detail design engineering and project management, specification write up, and complex system integration design in areas such as but not limited to: Control Systems, Digital Communications, Integrated Access Control & Alarm Monitoring, Intrusion & Event Detection, Video Surveillance, Optical Networks, SONET design, Digital Logging Recorder Systems, Telephone Systems, Public Address and Intercom (VoIP) Systems, ITS/Traffic, FCC & FAA, Radio Systems, Radar, Microwave and other electronic systems/technology integration, and data communication network design. 

• New York and/or New Jersey P.E. license is desired.  Cisco networking certification is also desired.

• Computer skills:  Must be fluent in Microsoft Office software.  Familiarity with Visio, AutoCAD, and MicroStation is desired.  Familiarity with the Port Authority of NY, NJ Turnpike Authority and NJDOT CAD standards is also desired.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Preferences:

• The candidate shall be skilled in project leadership, integrated design management, and be able to communicate effectively both verbally as well as in written form and interface with other disciplines as required.
