Job Description:

Xtel seeks an experienced high energy sales professional to join our Education team. The Senior Account Manager is responsible for building relationships in an effort to execute educational customers strategic plans that ensure account growth and customer satisfaction. Along with our team of sales, service, and solution engineers, successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and generating revenue by uncovering new opportunities for developing strategic solutions including network WAN services, dedicated Internet, IP telephony, cloud computing, and more. Successful candidates must be motivated, goal and detail oriented, willing to learn, and have a minimum of 5 years experience in team environment sales. Specific duties include:

  • Generating leads through prospecting and appointment setting.
  • Attending trade shows and local networking events to assist in new lead generation.
  • Presenting Xtels portfolio of services to qualified prospects and existing customers.
  • Creating and maintaining a forecast of quality prospects that exceed assigned sales objectives and monthly revenue quotas.
  • Acquiring and communicating competitive solutions and emerging technologies at weekly sales meetings.
  • Cultivating and aggressively pursuing customer relationships for lead referrals.
  • Utilize order management system (Salesforce CRM) for new sales entry.

Required Competencies:

  • 5+ years of successful NJ K-12 Education Market sales
  • Full understanding of the E-rate process
  • Ability to attend on-site customer appointments on a daily basis
  • Advanced account management skills
  • Enhanced skills in consultative selling, negotiating, and creative problem solving by providing value added solutions to clients
  • Clear understanding of Layer 2 & 3 Ethernet, MPLS, VoIP, hosted PBX and converged IP telephony services
  • Ability to function under deadline constraints
  • High level of drive required to build a customer base in a competitive environment
  • Highly organized, detail oriented individual possessing a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to demonstrate ROI to clients
  • Commitment to meet specific quota expectations on a monthly basis
  • Effective networker and experienced cold-caller
  • Diligent management of the sales cycle to close of sale
  • Superior listening and rapport building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Verifiable track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas within the CLEC, IXC and ISP marketplace
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook
  • Experience using a CRM package is a plus.
  • Possess valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance and for visiting prospects and clients

Required Education:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
