Job Description

Job Classification: Contract A bio pharmaceutical company located in Summit, NJ has an immediate opening for an Organic ChemistThis individual will be responsible for:1. Conducting research in process chemistry and process development. Responsible for developing safe and efficient processes for the manufacture of Clinical Development Candidates. 2. Applying chemistry and engineering principles to solve challenges in organic synthesis. 3. Conducting process development from bench through kilo-lab and/or pilot plant. 4. Manufacturing Clinical Development Candidates internally for use in critical pre-IND studies. 5. Supporting technology transfer to CROs or CMOs for GMP production. 6. Preparing compounds for use as analytical reference standards, in DMPK studies and/or intermediates in drug discovery. 7. Preparing technical reports, maintain good notebook record, and give effective presentation.The job requirements and qualifications include:1. MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry with 5+ years (MS) or 2+ years (PhD) relevant industrial experience. 2. Excellent laboratory skills and knowledge of organic synthesis. Proficient in the use of all modern instrumentation, such as NMR, HPLC, MS, DSC/TGA, ICP, and process automation platforms. 3. Experience in pharmaceutical development as it relates to route selection, process development, salt selection, physical attribute control, crystallization development, polymorphism, solubility and stability testing. 4. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to work independently and in team environments under deadlines is a must. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important. 5. Good record keeping is a must. Experience with electronic notebook is a plus. 6. Familiarity with c-GMP manufacturing is a plus. 7. Experience in operation of glass reactors is a plus. 8.
