Job is located in Elmwood Park, NJ.Job Summary:
Handle the collection activities for KEYENCE Corporation. Conduct credit analysis for both new and existing customers. Determine the cause of credit hold for new orders and the optimal course of actions to resolve the issue. Exhibit pleasant but forceful communication skill for optimal outcome. Possess ability to swiftly obtain and analyze complex financial data with complete accuracy from multiple available sources.
Principle duties and tasks:
- Determine the cause of orders on credit hold by obtaining and analyzing a variety of credit related information and data through multiple available sources
- Work with internal departments, specifically Customer Service, Sales, Product Control, and Accounting as well as customers to resolve billing issues for releasing orders
- Reduce and maintain a low percentage of past due collection amount primarily by telephone, emails and/or letters
- Reconcile due to customer cash receipts by accurately reconciling cash receipts to open invoices.
- Reduce and maintain a low percentage of pending due to customer cash receipts
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts
- Obtain and analyze credit data and financial statements for new and existing customers to determine the degree of credit risk and set optimal credit limit
- Work with collection agencies and legal counsels, as necessary, to reconcile delinquent accounts
- Respond to inquiries from other departments as well as customers
- Maintain and update relevant records, files, and information to the database
- Proactively inform sales members of problem orders and accounts
- Process electronic and web invoicing for select accounts
- Proactively identify areas to improve credit operation efficiency and initiate projects to achieve such improvements
- Understand and observe company / department policies and procedures
- Other duties or projects, as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, bookkeeping, and/or financial data analysis
- Knowledge of Windows-based applications
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Proficient business writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain pleasant yet forceful interpersonal relationships
- Judgment skill to determine the best possible courses of action for company
- Analytical skill to process information logically to address credit issues
- Attention to detail
- Ability to maintain composure, keep emotions in check, control anger, and avoid aggressive behavior
- Persistence in the face of obstacles
