Classification: Software EngineerCompensation: $80,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
The function of the Senior Software Engineer is to independently design, develop, integrate and document system software. Additional duties include assistance with product and software development to best meet the customers needs.RESPONSIBILITIES: Systems Software Development:oResponsible for designing and developing software for the AMS (Acoustic Monitoring System) in a timely manner. This includes; user interface, hardware drivers, data acquisition, data analysis, graphing, decision making and output. Responsible to design software that is in the best interest of the customer and Surveillance (remote monitoring) Group.oResponsible for all software maintenance, upgrades and modifications on the AMS.oResponsible for communicating and coordinating with sales, customers, engineering and production in specifying, quoting, developing and maintaining system software.oMust fully understand and become immersed in the AMS technology upon which the software system is based (Acoustic Emission/ASL).oMust work with and assist the hardware engineers as a team in testing and integrating new system hardware.Software Development Planning and Documentation: oResponsible for up-front design and planning of the all software developments in accordance with ISO-9001 procedures (EOP-04-01 & EOP-04-03). This includes planning documents, design documents, design reviews, code reviews, correspondence memos and final software documentation for manuals and customer use. oResponsible for preparing and generating software releases in accordance with ISO-9001 standards (EOP-04-04, EOP-04-06 & EOP-04-07).
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Masters Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or a Bachelors Degree with at least 4-5 years relevant software experience.Detailed Knowledge of C# or C++ software, NET and Windows XP/7, assembly language programming and DOS and WINDOWS programming for use with PC Compatible Computers.At least 4 years experience in developing scientific systems data acquisition, processing and/or analysis s/w.Experience and knowledge on interfacing software to the hardware for the purpose of maximizing speed and minimizing software and other resources.
