Details of this critical opening follow:Responsibilities:

Experienced claims professional responsible for managing and adjusting mainstream casualty claims impacting primary policies. Insure high level of customer service and technical claim file quality.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Provides outstanding customer service and works well with the insured, broker and TPA in the adjustment of mainstream casualty claims.

Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions, as warranted, under direction of supervisor and coverage unit.

Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of third-party damages.

Directs and closely monitors assignments to experts and defense counsel.

Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.

Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to supervisor.

Reports to reinsurers and facilitates the prompt collection of reinsurance on those matters where they are accountable.

Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary.

This position reports to a line of business Claims Team Leader, Claims Manager or other more senior claims leader.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Authoritative knowledge of ACE

Should have a high degree of specialized and technical competence in the handling of casualty claims with particular emphasis on General Liability policies.

Minimum of 5 years casualty claim handling experience.

College degree or equivalent business experience.

Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources.

Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills.

Ability to work with TPAs and large accounts in a professional manner.

Authoritative knowledge of ACE coverage, products, services, and liabilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Should have a high degree of specialized and technical competence in the handling of casualty claims with particular emphasis on General Liability and Business Auto policies.

J.D. preferred but not required.

Experience in handling claims in all 50 states.

Completion of basic IEA claims courses.

IEA certification.

Self Insured Certificate.

ARM 54, 55 and 56

CPCU certification.
