KDB Developer for the Equities Risk team at Jersey

Job Description

This is an intermediate/senior level KDB Server side developer role for the Equity Derivatives and Risk Presentation team, developing the primary pricing, analytics and risk management applications used by Equity Derivatives traders globally. The team is building a new strategic platform and suite of applications covering all the primary functionality to support the derivatives business. Products covered include Listed and OTC options, Variance Swaps, Vol Swaps etc. This is a high profile group with a lot of exposure to the business. The role offers a lot of challenge and an opportunity to build very high performance applications using cutting edge technology. The team has developers in New York, London, Belfast, Brazil, and Hong Kong building a global application and still maintaining local focus. Key Responsibilities: Be part of a global team to build the common Risk desktop platform which includes applications to support pricing, analytics and real time risk management of Equity derivatives products. Manage deliverables and design architect and develop and build a scalable UI and server platform for multiple connected applications. Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues and be recognized as someone able to solve complicated problems using appropriate technology and techniques. Work alongside developers in New York, London and Asia to deliver a global product Liaising with traders and sales, in order to deliver solutions to complex problems around OTC Equity Derivatives Pricing and Booking. Development Value: Design and architect key components of the infrastructure, build applications and work with the users to understand requirements and translate them into features and implementation of said features. This is a growth position with lots of opportunity and challenge to contribute to the strategic risk UI platform. Work with the business users, and develop a keen understanding of the financial products (Equity Derivatives) involved, and the trading lifecycle associated with them.

Job Requirements

2-3 years experience building enterprise applications in KDB , Having C# experience is a big plus as UI, application development expected as part of the role Enterprise messaging (e.g. Tib EMS, CM) SQL Server and XML/FPML Design Patterns solving OO problems Understanding multithreaded programming and experience building high performance applications is a must.
