We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are searching for innovative people to join our teams.Tetra Tech, Inc. is currently seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Seller Doer for our Morris Plains, NJ office, which provides consulting services to clients in the utility, transmission, and electric generation development fields. The individual selected will be part of a regional and national team pursing energy clients and energy projects across the country. Experience with siting and permitting of electric generation and linear facilities, particularly electric transmission lines in New York, New Jersey and the Middle Atlantic, is highly desirable.
In addition to the above, the Seller Doer must play a key role in providing leadership and guidance to the local office staff and to all employees with whom they interact throughout the organization. As the position title implies, Seller Doers play a dual role within the company.
In their Seller role, in conjunction with Program Leads and Operations Managers, they:
- Provide leadership to local and corporation-wide business development efforts including the development of strategic initiatives.
- Acquire an understanding of the local, regional, and national markets for the purpose of identifying new business opportunities.
- Initiate direct client contact through client communications, meetings and presentations.
- Develop specific client targets, complete peer-reviewed capture plans and play a lead role in implementing these plans.
- Manage and/or coordinate the development of Proposals, Statements of Qualifications, and other marketing materials and submittals designed to better position the Company to acquire project work from new and existing clients.
- Managing individual projects and/or major programmatic contracts.
- Providing technical input to project tasks.
- Consistently applying the proven Tetra Tech, Inc. work processes to projects they manage and/or contribute to technically.
- Thoroughly understanding and implementing the financial, change, and cash management principles to projects they manage or support.
- Ensuring client satisfaction and client focus in the execution of project work.
- Serving as mentors to others with less experience and aiding in their professional development.
- Exercising normal supervisory responsibility with respect to subordinates, including those associated with performance appraisals, selection, delegation of authority, work assignment and definition of areas of responsibility.
The successful candidate will provide knowledge and/or expertise in the following areas, but not limited to: biological resources-specific baseline studies, environmental impact analysis, and land use-related mitigation design and monitoring.
Job Requirements
- Possess a Masters or higher degree in an applicable field (geology, biology, chemistry, ecosystem management, natural resources management/planning, or a closely related discipline).
- 10 + years of progressively responsible professional experience related to energy project development, natural/biological resources management, environmental/land use planning or other related fields.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local natural resources and energy development related laws, regulations and ordinances are desired.
- Possess technical writing and editing ability, good interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills.
- Exceptional attention to details, planning, organizing, and quality is required.
- Possess recent contacts in local and regional areas to facilitate sales growth in NY, NJ, and PA.
- Ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and disciplines and succeed in a team oriented organization interfacing with a variety of different groups to accomplish project objectives.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
- Prior managerial experience with direct staff management is also a plus.
