SCCM Administrator

 

One of our Fortune 100 financial clients is looking for a SCCM Administrator to work out of their New York City, NY location.

 

This role is for an Engineer Lead to play a key role within the desktop engineering team responsible for architecting, designing and engineering enterprise platform solutions with over two hundred thousand endpoints in a global environment. The candidate must be able to work within the small globally distributed team and become a lead member within this center of excellence for the core desktop platform within the bank. The candidate must have proven ability to diagnose, isolate and resolve complex application and network issues down to the packet level. The candidate must have strong hands on experience engineering platform solutions based on MS Windows XP and Windows 7 with a focus on designing for the enterprise and utilizing agile development techniques within the desktop engineering function.


Job Responsibilities

  • Create the core desktop platform and supporting infrastructure
  • Research options providing functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches
  • Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures
  • Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
  • Maintain relevant and current knowledge and be a leader, within assigned technical fields
  • Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear updates
  • Provide technical consultations and presentations to LOBs as needed
  • Create and lead configuration management processes, while following all change management guidelines.
  • Provide disaster recovery planning for client technologies
  • Perform post-implementation 4th level support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems


Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15 years of experience managing windows based PC’s with at least 10 years experience engineering Windows based solutions in a banking environment with a minimum 7 years of hands on experience with MS windows XP and 2-3 years of experience with MS Windows 7 and migrations from Windows XP.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office 2007 and 2010 and core desktop applications and fundamental application integration experience
  • Architect experience of VMware, Citrix and Symantec desktop and application virtualization technologies
  • Must have sys internals level understanding of the Windows kernel and architecture with the ability to debug memory dumps and network traces
  • VBScript, PowerShell and Batch scripting experience is essential with C#, WCF web service development integrating with MS SQL preferred and some WinApi experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of OS image creation using MS Deployment Toolkit and extending the MS tool set into the enterprise
  • A+, Network+ or any other professional certification, MCDST or MCP or MCSE is required or similar experience level
  • Experience project managing, deploying and supporting large scale O/S migrations and introducing new technology based on business needs and industry standards
  • Solid foundation designing and implementing distributions with Active Directory and Group policy
  • Resource Kit level knowledge of Windows 2008, Windows 7, 2003, and XP
  • Ability to work independently without intensive oversight – must be a go-getter and take initiative on a regular basis finding ways to avoid problems proactively rather than just fixing them after the fact)
  • Initiative and ability to research problems independently, finding root cause
