About the Opportunity:
This position is responsible for the development and ongoing management of the Business Products & Services business unit. including the establishment of strategic direction and performance assessment of program effectiveness. Effective contract negotiation with key business partners in the various business products and services categories will be a key success factor.. The position will create, maintain and monitor a differentiated business model dedicated building and growing a business products and services portfolio for MHA members and employees, Roper companies and their employees, business partners, and the business community in general.
Identification of needs by monitoring purchasing on contract trends will be expected. Effective and timely communication aligned with strategic direction to all members, customers and sales teams, will ensure a high level of customer service and pull-through.
The position is accountable for the development of overarching business strategy, strategic imperatives, tactical plans and program budget management, to ensure that long-range goals and financial objectives are met. The director serves as a subject matter expert and leader to our entire community of business partners, members, employees, and other companies who utilized our BPS offerings.
Essential Job Functions:
Design & implement business model, strategy to market and implement across all MHA family of companies and their employees, Roper Companies and their employees, and the general business community.
Create and manage a dedicated team focused on identifying products and services related to the Business Products & Service offerings.
Create and implement operations model to address contract and database management, membership process, reconciliation and legal issues.
Develop and expand vendor relationships to ensure products and services offerings meet needs and wants from stakeholder community.
Develop and implement services branding. Identify brand loyalty opportunities, business partner and platform opportunities and communications.
Subject matter expert and leader across all MHA business units and external customer base.
Job Requirements:
BA/BS Degree in management, finance, marketing or other business related degree
MBA a plus
7 to10+ years experience in corporate purchasing, contract management, supply chain management, product marketing and/or facilities management in pharmaceutical, consumer products, durable goods or corporate services industries. This must include at least two years business development experience.
Minimum 3+ years management experience
Strong MS office knowledge, including Access. Understanding of client-server database applications is a plus but not required.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal/presentation skills
Strategic thinking and decision making skills
Strong contract negotiation experience required
Strong process management skills
