We are seeking a Production Technician for radiopharmaceutical manufacturing who is proficient in maintaining and operating the synthesis units and is proficient in preparing and operating the company’s cyclotrons and is proficient in calibrating and operating analytical equipment and performing Quality Control. This individual will work mainly and have a strong emphasis in Production.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete required synthesis unit operations training. 
• Operate the synthesis unit according to proper operating procedures
• Monitor routine synthesis unit parameters
• Assist in routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance on the synthesis unit.
• Learn the basic operational principles of the FDG synthesis unit.
• Ensure completion of documentation related to synthesis unit operations
• Preparation and set-up of the synthesis unit as well as the safe delivery of the final product to the pharmacy. 
• Perform routine synthesis unit preventative maintenance
• Monthly inventory of supplies and equipment used in FDG manufacturing.
• Shift and weekend work is required.
• Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation.
• Provide information to supervisors regarding equipment operation and status.
• Perform basic operations of the particle accelerator.
• Assist the cyclotron engineer, as required, in the maintenance of the accelerator.
• Provide basic QC support for isotope manufacturing.
• Perform radiation safety duties to assure compliance with all regulations
• Assure compliance with all procedures, regulations, organizations
• Tracking of cyclotron performance data.
• Data gathering of manufacturing metrics.
• Demonstrate proficient use of radiation survey meters.
• Provide cyclotron operation coverage when required by necessity.

• Assimilate the basics of cGMP.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills

• Associates Degree or equivalent in a Technical Discipline preferred: electronics or mechanical
• Ability to perform diagnosis and repair on common electronic equipment
• Mechanical tools used in chemical processor maintenance
• Occasional travel for training or to support other sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite
• Capable of learning and understanding multiple disciplines.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of the company

• Experience in problem solving. 
• Ability to read, listen and understand technical direction, policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail oriented and self-directed with ability to work independently and multi-task

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time
• Ability to use hands to finger handle for extended periods 
• Close vision and focus capabilities
• Clear speech; good hearing and vision
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs
• Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills i.e. work repeatedly with small parts
• Shift work including but not limited to weekend call shifts
