Job Description
Department Function :
Provide a general and specialized work force to enforce the rules, regulations, and procedures of the corporation. Control access and prevent trespass to the corporations facilities and prevent loss of or damage to persons and property. Provide guidance to authorized visitors and vendors. Manage traffic flow and deter criminal activity.
Position Summary :
Ensure security of personnel and physical locations.
Principal Responsibilities :
- Stand post and/or patrol to maintain access control, detect fires and/or prevent loss and infraction of rules.
- Monitor alarm, CCTV, access control and communication system console.
- Inspect badges for validation and personal belongings for securities.
- Conduct roving patrol of premises.
- Maintain manual and computerized visitor control logs.
- Utilizes Casi-Rusco Picture Perfect access control & alarm monitoring system.
- Monitor various facilities engineering equipment.
- Dispatch officers via radio to investigate.
Experience :
Four years security or related experience (e.g., military, police, corrections)
Knowledge / Skills :
- Above average verbal skills and basic writing skills.
- Ability to track names of guests as well as the internal individuals they are visiting.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and excel in dealing with the public.
- Should possesses knowledge of PCs and be able to use databases.
- Must have good technical skills. Can demonstrate ability to use various video monitoring and recording equipment.
Education, Training or Certification :
High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
In New York, NY State Security Guard License a plus.
