Position Summary

Responsible for the direct daily supervision of pharmacists and technicians and other pharmacy service personnel providing clinical or distributive pharmacy services for all medications dispensed by Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. Critical responsibilities include participation in the hiring process, provision of clinical guidance and direction to staff, schedule preparation and management, ensuring adherence to SOPs, staff training, problen solving and follow-up, performance monitoring and evaluation, including corrective action, and data gathering and report preparation.*Position schedule - 12pm to 9pm M-F**

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience as a registered staff pharmacist and at least 3 years managerial or supervisory experience.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to interpret common pharmaceutical literatute. Be able to respond professionally to common inquiries and customer complaints. Must be able to effectively present information to both internal and external customers. Be able to apply mathematical concepts to pharmacy dispensing functions and to apply basic accounting principles and analyze financial reports. Ability to identify and to solve practical problems. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions. Able to analyze, interpret, and resolve performance issues. Must have applicable state pharmacy license and, as required, maintain eligibility for licensure in other states. Must have basic computer skills, including MicroSoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and an attention to detail. Ability to respond to change by prioritizing and to be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous retail or other relevant clinical pharmacy experience preferred.

Education

This person requires a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
