The Target Accounts Representative will workto strengthen our presence in the industry and within identified target account groups to maximize all potential opportunities provided. TheTarget Account Representative will work multiple sides of the customer interface to assure GAF bid and job securement opportunities and support strategic growth initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Direct Product/Opportunity Sales
- Increase sales by closely monitoring job activity as reported on construction services (Dodge, Reed etc.), qualifying leads provided by marketing and field sales reps.; prospect and qualify new opportunities through multiple programs (Hoovers) and other methods of investigation.
- Generate new and repeat sales by driving specification opportunities and by providing product and limited technical information in a timely manner.
- Determine customer needs, requirements, and expectations in order to present Challenger insights and recommend specific products and solutions.
- Recommend alternative product solutions based on customer options.
- Proactively sell items needed by customers to increase profitability and customer satisfaction; resulting in strengthened customer loyalty.
Fostering Product Awareness
- Understand product selling stories and communicate to assure specification opportunities and build customer loyalty.
- Utilize CRM to keep detailed notes and information on existing and potential customers for corporate transparency and use by all who touch customers.
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction when necessary.
- Communicate with customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or complaints.
Information/Documentation Maintenance
- Utilize CRM to qualify leads and opportunities. And build Contact and Lead databases.
- Fill requests for catalogs, information, or samples as required.
- Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
- Create, align, and maintain customer files in CRM on new targets/accounts not previously known or recognized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree required or 3-5 years related experienceTechnical knowledge/skills:
- Proficient with CRM, and other common office equipment and corporate software.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft CRM.
- Working knowledge of consumer preferences, product developments and GAF solutions.
- Maintain and increase industry knowledge by reading trade publications and by attending meetings, vendor training and trade shows as deemed appropriate.
- Advanced knowledge of order life cycle and commercial sales cycle.
General knowledge/skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Work effectively with other members of the sales team.
- Excellent time management skills, disciplined, great follow up skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, strong attention to detail.
- Excellent telephone sales personality.
- Prominent organization and presentation skills. Understanding of organizational and departmental responsibilities and ability to navigate cross functionally effectively.
- Highly energetic and self-motivated
- Good decision making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills.
- Should be assertive, organized, and systematic.
