Business Manager at Nordstrom at Freehold

Job Description

  • Lead through empowerment and teach by example. 
  • Motivate counter staff to meet daily sales goals and review specific goals for focus products
  • Communicate upcoming events and promotions with all MUA and counter staff. 
  • Monitor counter staff to develop their skills and achieve their goals. 
  • Maintain a Daily Communication Log 
  • keep everyone informed of prior events and daily priorities. 
  • Hold regular weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly Counter Meetings to present and discuss counter issues and objectives. 
  • Assign individual counter maintenance duties. 
  • Monitor, motivate and train counter staff on client profiling. 
  • Business Managers schedule will meet the needs of the business. Therefore, must be scheduled to work when necessary on Sundays or late shifts. 
  • Ensure that all counter staff adhere to their permanent schedules. 
  • Produce the monthly schedules, due on the 15th of every month. These schedules should be complete with all counter staff. The BDC will review and confirm all schedules. Any un-communicated changes may result in a written warning. 
  • Establish a break/lunch schedule daily (regardless if your scheduled on). 
  • Confirm all hours worked by counter staff and freelancers DAILY on their timecards/invoices.
  • Business Manager will be given monthly goals and is expected to tally their daily sales on a DBR. (No commission will be paid without a completed DBR and audited sales.) 
  • Determine counter goals and calculate goals for each counter staff  by month, week and day. This is due to the BDC one week prior to the beginning of the month.
