ABOUT THE JOB Excellence in daily running of DC operations. Leading, coaching, and developing teams responsible for delivering goods within the agreed time and in the agreed quality to the lowest possible DC operational costs.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your main tasks will include:
*Ensure compliance with IKEA Corporate Risk Management Standards on a consistent basis via a regular series of audits, follow-ups, education, training, and reports.
*Strong working knowledge of all internal and external security related systems
*Work in partnership with NA Safety/Security Manager to ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of safety and security initiatives
*Maintain OSHA compliance programs and Loss Prevention audits for facility.
*Ensure that all security, safety and emergency systems and procedures are operational to ensure that IKEAs co-workers and assets are protected
*Initiate and monitor internal and external incidents and provide rapid response, investigation and reporting of all emergencies.
*Develop and maintain safety programs to reduce Workers Compensation costs through accident prevention
*Lead and develop co-workers within the area of responsibility and in accordance with the IKEA coworker idea
*Secure that IKEA rules and guidelines as well as laws and regulations are followed
* Communicate in a positive manner with all areas and levels of the Distribution Centers, stores and Service providers
*Support and Execute the ideals of "The Human Resource Idea" with regard to recruitment, training, development and leadership of the Supply Team function
*Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as assigned
Job Requirements
YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:*At least 3-years retail Safety & Security Management experience, or at least 3-years IKEA Safety & Security experience including internal training programs.
*Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding safety and risk management
*Proven knowledge in accident prevention and federal/local regulatory compliance
*Fluent in English - both written and spoken
*First Aid, disaster response experience and CPR certification
*Interview and interrogation capabilities
*Security monitoring and alarm equipment experience
*Proven Analytical, Organizational, Strategic, tactical and time management skills
*Computer literacy - Word, Excel, and Power point
*University degree in Risk Management or closely related field
*A general interest in people and motivation from coaching and developing co-workers
*Be a dynamic, action oriented team player that is self motivated and confident in making independent decisions
*Work Location: Fast-paced, deadline driven, high volume distribution center
Physical/Mental Demands (Essential Functions): Ability to access and observe all areas of the property. Required to climb ladders, enter restricted areas and potentially hazardous situations, and work in inclement weather conditions. Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress. Standing for most of the shift. Ability to communicate with co-workers and manage conflict.
