Microsoft SharePoint Developer - Help Desk

 

Central Jersey Blood Center is seeking a full time, Help Desk Specialist, responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS 

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming incidents and requests related to computer systems, software, hardware and peripherals remotely or in person.
  • Identifies, researches and resolves technical problems related p computer systems and networks using available information resources.
  • Respond to end user queries either in person, over the telephone or via email.
  • Administer and manage Help Desk ticketing system and help desk tickets from creation to resolution.
  • Develop training materials and plans to train users for new or updated changes within applications, software and/or hardware.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation for the Information Technology department.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware, software and peripherals for end users.
  • Resolve technical problems in a Windows 7 environment.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by Systems Administrator / IT Director.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned by Systems Administrator/IT Director.

Job Requirements


  • Experience required in a service desk, call center or other technical support role, preferably in professional services.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving ability with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate effectively over the phone or in person. English is required; other languages welcome.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Sufficient maturity in interpersonal development needed to contend with potential difficult situations and users.
  • Able to work in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Computers and Networking principles.
  • Good Organization and time management skills.
  • Capable of working independently and/or within a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of change control best practices.
  • Desktop Support experience, Active Directory, Windows 7 and Microsoft Office software experience and troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Microsoft Active Directory knowledge required, to include but not limited to basic user maintenance.
  • Microsoft server 2003, 2008 and 2012 experience preferred.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Remote Desktop and Terminal services.
  • Experienced in VPN technologies.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

  • Drivers License in good standing
  • Help Desk Institute (HDI) certification required within six months of hire date.
  • ITIL Foundations certification desired.
  • MCP, or PC A+, Network +, Security + desired.
