Executive Chef
The Executive Chef will be responsible in managing the daily operations of the kitchen area, implement production systems and processes to include menu planning, catering, manage food cost, labor cost, supplies, and have overall understanding of HACCP within a hospital atmosphere. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading, supervising, and developing production functions of the kitchen employees, demonstrating through experience the ability to motivate staff to be an industry leader in our Center of Excellence. Healthcare experience a must.
Essential and Key Tasks
- Must have a true passion for fresh wholesome food, scratch preparation and presentation with attention to detail. Possess a knowledge of tapping into local farmers and vendors to nurture and leverage synergy in the community
- Provides leadership in culinary production, operations and procurement
- Plans menus for daily food service operations
- Develops culinary team members through appropriate coaching, training, mentoring and empowerment
- Maintains compliance standards for meal service, food quality and task performance
- Performs daily audits of safety, sanitation, food quality, meal delivery at point of service, and quality standards to optimize financial and operational productivity
- Oversees managers in a diverse environment; establishes and maintains effective client and guest relations
- Owns and manages all department procurement and inventory to align with budgetary and fresh food standards. Develops and maintains inventory that is sheet to sheet with accurate weekly costing
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred.
