Job Classification: Contract Our Client, a Large University in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Veterinary Technician to provide veterinary technical support to all Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) Facilities.The veterinary technician, under general supervision, assists the veterinarian and researchers in surgery and radiology, animal care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventative procedures. Maintains medical records and inventory. Provides non-surgical technical assistance to researchers as directed. Provides technical support, including induction, maintenance, and documentation during anesthesia and post operative care for all USDA regulated animals.-Manages the LAR Environmental Enrichment Program.-Manages the procurement, use and inventory of veterinary drugs and supplies.-Act as the First Responder for any animal related need.-Responsible for the coordination and delivery of the rodent quality assurance program.-Responsible for the review of all health reports for incoming of animals from approved vendors and conducting intake checks on all USDA regulated species. -Shipping and receiving coordinator for all animals sent or received from non-commercial sources (import and export requests). - BA/BS in Animal Science or related field and/or, Veterinary Technology Degree from an AVMA accredited school and/or, AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist Level, Minimum 2-3 years experience working with non-human primates in a responsibility described above.
