Job Description
AIG Benefit Solutions targets employer and affinity group markets, and serves as a one-stop solution for todays changing benefits marketplace for groups of all sizes. Reporting to the Head of Training & Education, the Training Manager will be responsible for participating in the development of, and executing the Training & Education strategy for the AIG Benefit Solutions organization with key areas of focus on Client Service and Operations, Underwriting, Product and Sales. The Training Manager will oversee all training design and delivery activities, and will also be required to participate in design and delivery activities as needed. The Training Manager will work in conjunction with the Training Operations team to establish and measure key metrics for training programs, and work with key stakeholders to constantly improve the capabilities of AIG Benefit Solutions employees.
Immediate Performance Objectives
*Manage training design and delivery
-Manage a team of Instructional Designers and Training Specialists, and work cross functionally to leverage organizational subject matter expertise and matrixed individuals in order to develop and deliver high quality training programs.
-Develop a library of courses that will be used to support onboarding of new hires and training paths for key areas of the business. Define competencies, create courses, and communicate program to stakeholders.
-Develop blended curricula for training programs that support key business objectives.
-Manage design and development function to provide services that support training needs in other parts of the organization.
-Uses ADDIE or similar model to design and deliver programs employing modern adult learning theory.
-Coordinate the compliance / legal approval process for all training materials working closely with training management and the legal department
*Training Facilitation
-Develop a train the trainer program to facilitate the development of subject matter experts and matrixed individuals in the organization who will deliver training to ensure effective knowledge and skills transfer.
-Deliver training to support key initiatives as needed in web-based or class-room formats.
*Program Management
-Develop and maintain key programs that support organizational objectives. Identify audiences, create and communicate training calendars, and oversee all aspects of creating and running ongoing training programs.
-Review and select appropriate vendors and vendor programs as required to support program learning objectives. Effectively manage vendor relationships and related budgets.
*Performance Consulting
-Guides leadership in responding to emerging performance related issues and opportunities
-Consult with key stakeholders to solve business problems
-Identify root causes by asking focused questions
-Tie goals for optimizing workgroup performance with organizational business goals
Additional Objectives
*Support the Head of Training & Education and other executive management staff as needed to ensure department objectives are met.
-Ability to develop effective training materials using adult learning principles
*Location: This role can be located in Neptune, NJ, Dallas or Houston, TX
*5-10 years of experience as a Training professional designing and delivering programs
*3-5 years of experience managing a training function
*Experience managing multiple high visibility projects
*Bachelors degree required,
*MBA, MS, MA, in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related degree preferred
*Familiarity with insurance products, particularly employee benefits
*Experience with a variety of eLearning design tools; Articulate, Captivate, BrainShark, Lectora as well as multimedia authoring software.
*Experience working in environments with centralized enterprise Learning Management Systems
*Experience with online communities, brown bags, or other informal learning activities that build user adoption
*Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills by the ability to establish and maintain strong networks and relationships
*Excellent written and oral communication skills
*Ability to travel to support de-centralized organization and business needs
