Summary

The Trader will be responsible for the trade Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) to hedge fallout and interest rate

risk of rate locks in the pipeline and closed loans in the warehouse. This position will identify variances from

predicted hedge performance and determines causality.

Essential Job Functions:

Works with the Secondary risk management system (QRM) to manage the companys mortgage exposure

within prescribed targets for hedge costs, value at risk limits, and profit margin objectives.

Maintains positive investor relations to facilitate achieving best execution asset sales to maximize

profitability and stay abreast of market intelligence.

Works with shipping to investigate and resolve any pool related issues.

Informs management of trading strategy cash position, risk management, current market conditions, and

regulatory concerns, to determine optimal solution.

Maintains positive working relationships with other functional areas within Capital Markets at all times.

Produces all analysis and management reporting timely and accurately.

Other Related Duties:

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or three (3) to five (5) years related experience

and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in secondary market trading or closely

related experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and work place policies. Ability to analyze,

interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to

write professional correspondences. Ability to write routine business reports. Ability to speak effectively with other

employees and/or customers. Ability to present formal information in one-on-one and small group situations to

customers and employees. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators,

managers, employees, customers and/or the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane

and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and

proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete

variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid

conclusions.
