Manufacturing / Assembly Technician
Title: Manufacturing Technician I
Reports To: Departmental Manufacturing Supervisor / Manager
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician I may be responsible for the manufacturing / assembly operations within any one of the following areas --- Laser Machining, Mechanical Surface Finishing, Chemical Surface Finishing, and / or Assembly / Catheter Manufacturing. The role will be a hands-on interaction with the operations team ensuring daily continuity of manufacturing processes and in-process inspections / product verification. The person in this position will be expected to work directly with the manufacturing team on a daily basis ensuring product integrity / quality is met at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for manufacturing medical devices in a manufacturing / production environment.
- Responsible for manufacturing and assembly of medical devices in a cleanroom environment.
- May be responsible for performing chemical surface finishing (electropolishing) and mechanical surface finishing operations on small scale medical devices. Ability to perform delicate, repetitive tasks is essential to many operations in the various manufacturing departments.
- Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection in order to accomplish assigned operations task(s) for product.
- Possess a broad understanding of various equipment set-ups (laser, CNC, micro blasting) and / or general operations in a medical device manufacturing / assembly environment.
- Perform equipment (laser / CNC / micro blasting) set-up, operation, and in-process inspection in order to accomplish manufacturing functions.
- Ability to physically handle small, delicate parts is crucial. Position may require using microscope up to 8 hours per day.
- Need to have the ability / capability to read and understand technical drawings, cGMP / ISO / FDA documentation and design details.
- Must be able to understand and perform in-process inspection to assure workmanship and quality of in-process medical devices.
Job Requirements
- Ability to physically handle small, delicate parts is crucial. Position may require standing up to 8 hours per day.
- Previous medical device manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
- 2-year Technical Degree is preferred, but not required.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills are important.
- Must be able to work to production timelines, ascustomer satisfaction and delivery are key.
- Strong professional or academic references are a must. Please be prepared to provide three current professional references.
- Experience in microscope inspection, small parts manufacturing, and process trouble shooting is a plus.
- Experience in general machining / CNC / laser machining a plus.
