Privacy and Information Security Analyst at Weehawken

Job Description

Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a Privacy and Information Security Analyst for their Weehawken, New Jersey (NJ) location.The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work in the Access Control and Data Monitoring Team of the Americas Privacy and Information Security Office. The Privacy and Information Security Office is responsible for enabling businesses to protect client, employee and firm information by creating an information management and control environment.Background:
  • Data Loss Protection (DLP) enables the company to reduce the risk of the unintentional disclosure of confidential information such as client name, address, telephone numbers, account numbers and social security numbers
  • Privacy staff monitor events captured in the DLP tool as defined in policies or rules to determine if data leaving the firm constitutes a data breach - Upon review, the appropriate action is taken - Utilizes the Master Access Control system (MAC) to provide employees access to applications necessary to perform their job functions
  • Application "entitlements" are created in MAC, allowing users to access information and perform transactional, data reference and other functions
  • Most entitlements allow users to generate or process client, employee or product transactions and to read or update client, employee, product and firm data - Therefore, it is critical that these entitlements are properly created and maintained
Responsibilities include:
  • Data Loss Protection (DLP):
  • Monitor emails and attachments captured in the DLP console
  • Escalate incidents to line managers for potential breaches
  • Escalate confirmed breaches to the Privacy Data Protection Officer.
  • Update policies and rules which drive the capture of the appropriate emails within the DLP console as defined by senior Privacy Office management

Job Requirements

Privacy and Information Security Analyst Qualifications (required unless noted otherwise):
  • Data Loss Protection (DLP) experience
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a technical environment
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
