The company Diabetes Care is committed to being the industrys leader and has had great success towards that goal through the talent and passion of its people.The primary responsibility of this position is to partner with the Sr. Global Design Manager and Brand Management team within the framework of the company Diabetes Care strategic plan and execute superior brand design and implementation systems across all customer touch-points in all global regions. Core to this role is the project management for the development of packaging design systems as directed by the Global Design Manager.The role is support role acting as a liaison between the Global Brand Management team and the creative resources required to execute the design strategy and global roll-out. Focus will be on project management throughout the process while escalating design implications to the Sr. Global Design Manager.The incumbent will: Manage the key relationships with outside design agencies on a project, specific basis. Monitor agency performance and ensure that projects are executed in line with the overall global strategic plan and are on time and on budget. Manage relationships with other members of Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) team while providing project support to execute packaging projects.. Manage the day-to-day design operations while partnering with the Senior Global Production Manager and Sr. Global Design Managers to monitor project status and delivery dates to assure on time delivery and to improve current QA systems. Interact with key commercialization stakeholders including R&D, LMR, QA/RA, Product Supply, Core teams, Element teams to ensure design strategies are in alignment with corporate objectives. Work closely with the Brand Management team in the development of the Design Brief. Based upon the Strategic Marketing Excellence framework, gathers key inputs from the Brand team including key customer insights, segmentation strategy, segment profiling, target audience/s and the BBE to create the final document for brand identity development.This position writes and owns the Creative Brief for the project. Oversee execution of specific elements of the brand identity which may include naming, positioning strategy, key messaging, packaging, visual brand language and product design, nomenclature systems and merchandising systems. Lead design projects from inception through finished implementation driving the team to deliver on time with quality and accuracy.The candidate will possess the following qualifications: Bachelors Degree in fine arts or business (BA, BFA) plus 5 to 7 years experience in project management in Advertising Agencies, Design Firms, Consumer Products companies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Medical Device groups. Ability to build strong relationships to gain the trust and confidence of partner Brand Manager and GSM team. Must be assertive and comfortable working across all levels of the organization and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with people at all levels of management and technical expertise Must be highly organized and be able to manage multiple projects at any given time. Clear communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborative - someone who can work across teams and regions. Excellent supervisory skills to effectively lead and manage Design team activities internally & with outside agencies & freelance creatives A keen understanding of the packaging industry, typography, printing technology, and the graphics arts industry is essential. Must be able to dissect and analyze graphic art files for quality, accuracy and production efficiency. Must be experienced in attending/evaluating initial print runs for packaging and collateral materials and in developing packaging, point of sale, promotional and other consumer materials across several brands/categories. Experience working with creative departments - either in-house or for an agency - including complex project portfolios, budgets etc. Committed to excellence in every aspect of their work.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a government regulated industry Healthcare experience is a plus. Foreign language skills in Spanish, German, French, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Portuguese is desirable Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, File Maker Pro knowledge Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and/or within the constraints of a global brandORL
