Job Description
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is accepting qualified applications for their Resident Supervisor opening. The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian church and the ultimate goal of all programs is the spiritual regeneration of all people.Responsibilities include:
- Is aware of and in agreement with The Salvation Army’s Christian spiritual approach to rehabilitation.
Desires to be a part of a team that provides a caring respectful atmosphere to those seeking our help. - Responsible for enforcement of house rules and policies and overall security of center during
evening and early morning hours. This includes ‘lights out;’ breathalyzing; drug testing; sign-out/in; bed checks; monitoring adherence to dress codes and attendance at meetings. Report and document violations of policies and center activities to DPRS / Administrator and appropriate staff as required. - Provide crisis intervention counseling with beneficiaries as needed. A written observation report of all crisis
counseling sessions is provided to a beneficiary’s primary counselor the following morning. - Be available to supervise access to medication; consultation about personal needs, etc.
- Train and supervise Assistant Residence Supervisor; Housekeeping Monitor (WTA); canteen personnel;
janitorial force; front desk/security personnel. Maintain time cards (beneficiaries/employees). - Ensure that canteen is inspected daily for cleanliness and adequate inventory. Submit list of inventory
needs to DPRS / Administrator weekly. - Conduct locker inspections as assigned.
- Receive information from counselors, supervisors and DPRS/Administrator concerning changes in work therapy assignments, passes approved, etc., for revision of daily/weekly tracking systems. Update daily work list with resident sick list for each day. Maintain daily bed roster. Collect and complete daily statistics and written reports, including attendance report and beneficiaries admitted and/or terminated.
- Record statistical information specific to your area of responsibility and submit to DPRS designate at the beginning of each week (weekly reports) and/or no later than the third business day following the end of the month (monthly reports).
- Arrange for the following (according to center policy): distribution of gratuities and beneficiaries’ mail;
emergency transportation; late dinners; pick up/drop off of prescriptions; activity attendance sheets;
maintenance of drug screening and breathalyzing equipment; keeping beneficiaries’ personal inventories
current; safety meetings; fire drills; meeting (and other) announcements. - Ensure that the “house” wakes on time for breakfast at scheduled time and that beneficiaries are in
attendance at morning devotions and program activities and arrive at Work Therapy Assignments (WTA) on
time. Beneficiaries on sick call need to be reported to their Work Therapy Supervisor. - Ensure that Housekeeping Monitor has access to supplies for janitorial force and other necessary supplies.
- Ensure that inventory of supplies is submitted to DPRS weekly.
- Ensure that repair and maintenance needs are reported to DPRS / designate immediately.
- Ensure that relief personnel have been assigned for relief responsibilities (security) and/or relieve
security personnel during meals, breaks, program meetings. - Ensure that beneficiaries are aware of policies by conducting orientation class and answering
questions regarding center policies. - Issue clothing voucher for new beneficiaries ensuring all have proper Sunday attire.
- Sell canteen tickets as required.
- Ensure maintenance of vending machines and hand deliver to the bookkeeper and obtain written receipt for
canteen and vending machine money; collections and offering every morning finance office is open. - Responsible for recreation and sports activities as assigned by DPRS / Administrator.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and all meetings as requested by the DPRS / Administrator.
- Complete monthly Work Therapy Evaluations for beneficiaries working in housekeeping and
security. - Have clear understanding of policy regarding confidentiality and response to law enforcement personnel and
procedure for medical emergencies. - Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and/or DPRS / Administrator.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent; current driver’s license.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ supervision experience preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clear understanding of professional boundaries and a commitment to professional development.
