Mobile Instructional Designer at PLAINFIELD


Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for the analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation of skills and knowledge training. The general target audiences for these programs include all levels and are targeted at Technical Training teams. The training delivery methods primarily focus on mobile learning but also will involve: classroom, web conferencing, and e-Learning modalities. Interfaces with team members and client groups to receive, analyze, prioritize, and project manage training development and delivery requests. Conducts detailed analysis of audience, task, and needs assessment of requested training projects. Engage with various organizations to fully discover training need and relevance to business impact. Measure training development impact after training experience has concluded. Share results to leadership.

Conducts “train-the-trainer” sessions for curriculum they have developed to other field trainers. If appropriate, delivers training as deemed necessary. Requires minimal, if any, management direction and/or supervision, outside milestone SME and manager reviews. Receives broad guidance and is accountable for functional area and program results. Uses expertise to directly influence others inside and outside department and function.

1. Curriculum Development
Responsible for development of the training program from conception to implementation.
Assesses needs to determine appropriate response (job aid, training course, etc.), and design accordingly, recognizing various online delivery methodologies.
Identifies process by which to determine interventions to best meet the needs of specific situations, and develop training programs and educational tools address identified needs.
Develops training materials for products, services, promotions, operations, pricing launches and/or skills training for utilization

2. Program Management or Project Management
Responsible for managing at least one Area, region or company-wide training program. Program management duties include owning a specific training program from start to implementation, project planning, curriculum development, training delivery/train the trainer and measuring results pre/post implementation.
Projects management responsibilities include product rollouts, systems deployments, etc.
Spends appropriate amount of time in the field or centers with clients to reinforce key learnings from training.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience in curriculum development for various mobile learning delivery tools.

Experience in Captivate 6 or 7, Storyline and/or Camtasia Studio 8.

Demonstrated expertise with ADDIE training development model.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrate ability to quickly grasp technology and technical concepts.

Advanced consulting experience.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time results.

Responsible for full body of work – from idea generation to posting and follow through.

Making own decisions and building client relationships.

Demonstrated ability to develop and customize activities to ensure participant engagement and knowledge retention.

Experience with Level 3 and 4 evaluations of training programs.

Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

Desired Skills and Experience: (bonus if they have them)

Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and PPT

QuestionMark Perception authoring experience

Experience designing for SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004

Experience: Minimum 2 years curriculum development and at least 4 years experience in Training, Organization Development or in functional group for which training is provided/developed.
Facilitation/training experience and knowledge of adult learning theory and assessment necessary.
Excellent verbal and written skills are required. The ability to provide sound performance consulting and assist in peer coaching of training team is necessary. Strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment is essential.
Education: Position requires a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Education, Business Administration, related field or equivalent work experience
Certifications: Professional training certifications (e.g. CTT+) and active participation in professional training organizations (e.g. ASTD) preferred.
