Devereux NJ is seeking a Group Home Managerin Wayne, NJ. The Group Home Manager will overseeresidential services for intellectually and developmentally disabledadults, and partner with these individuals to facilitate daily care, enhance personal development, foster self-esteem, and meet or exceed individualized goals for success. The position requires supervison of 12+ group homes and 1 vocational program.

Devereux, the largest non-profit provider of behavioral healthcare in the country, operating 15 centers in 11 states has an opening for a Program Manager in our Somerset, NJ location. The Program Manager has direct supervision of program supervisors and direct care staff. The position reports directly to the Assistant Program Director.

As our Program Manager, YOU will add value by:

  • Leading and guiding residential staff in assessing client strengths and needs in relevant development areas through observation and assessment tools according to Program protocols.
  • Leading and supervising staff interaction with individuals.
  • Monitoring and insuring proper communication and written reports pertaining to individuals.
  • Performing supervisory duties as required by program management.
  • Adhering to The Devereux Foundation and Devereux New Jersey Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitoring the administration of medication.
  • Coordinating the IHP processes (i.e., contact the IDT members).

Location:Wayne, NJ

Hours: Monday - Friday 9a - 5p with on-call responsibilities

Overview of Responsibilities: The program manager in ourSomerset region will be responsible for the oversight of I/DDgroup homes. The manager should be comfortable and have experience working with consumers who sexualized behaviors, fire setting and offender backgrounds. You should have previous experience with DDD licensing site visits, standards and regulations. The manager will overseeprogram supervisors and the overall oversight of all the direct care staff.

Job Requirements

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Sociology, Special Education, Counseling or Psychology.
  • One year of supervisory experience in a child behavioral health care agency.
  • Two years experience working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Consistently meets deadlines, ability to prioritize, multi-task and flexibility.
  • Willingness to be on-call.
  • Previous experience and knowlege of monitoring and managing fiscal responsibilities of a group home or residential setting.
  • Experience with DDD licensing site visits preferred.
