"The Enterprise Data and BI Solutions role is to drive innovation that aligns with the business objectives of the organization. As the Data Warehouse, Master Data Management and Business Intelligence expert, the position will entail interacting with Senior Executives and Directors of all functional business areas to develop and implement strategic initiatives for Data management, Reporting and Analytics operations. Accordingly, the Solutions Architect, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence will work closely with senior business leaders to develop a DW, MDM & BI vision for the company and to provide the leadership necessary to implement the agreed upon vision in a cost-effective manner. The position also oversees the support and maintenance processes for the various data marts and reporting systems and identifies, designs, and develops new marts, reports, dashboards, and data integrations in support of business requirements, while also managing the overall coordination of system updates, enhancements, etc. In addition to DW, MDM & BI responsibilities the candidate will also be required to advise on new business solutions architecture involving web site and database integration, as well as integration with external partner solutions. and any related reporting and analytics.
Formal Education & Certification: College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration and minimum of 6, typically 8 or more years related work experience.
Knowledge & Experience: 7+ years managing an Oracle data warehouse environment. 5+ years managing a BI tool such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects, or Cognos. 3+ years of experience with master data management software (e.g. Kalido). Knowledge of Oracle Warehouse Builder, Knowledge of typical Data warehouse infrastructure hardware and software supporting backups, restore, disaster recovery, etc. Strong understanding of project management principles and Systems Development Life Cycle standards. Leadership Competencies: Leverages business acumen, Focuses on Customers and Business Partners, Drives for Results, Promotes Accountability, Builds Organizational Talent.
Strong interpersonal skills, an excellent negotiator and communicator with strong written and orals skills. Ability to conduct and direct research into technical and business issues and products as required. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases, budgets, and so on. Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Exceptional customer service orientation. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
TOP FIVE MUST HAVES
Strong Interpersonal and Business Analyst skills - Must be able to work with Business Leaders - understand their needs, suggest solutions and deliver on promises. Technically strong (DW, BI, MDM) - Must be technical enough to architect solutions. Project Management skills - must be able to accurately provide ballpark estimate, contingency plan, prioritize and meet deadlines. Experience with Pharmaceutical data (e.g. IMS, Valucentric). Knowledge of Oracle and MicroStrategy
