Job Description

POSITION: DIVISION RECRUITER REPORTING LOCATION: KEARNY, NJ

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages all stages of the Selection Process for frontline Home and Office Delivery Division positions (Route Sales, Direct Sales, Warehouse, Fleet, Administrative Assistants, Factory, etc) from the moment an application is received until a candidate is either rejected or hired. This includes maintaining the online applicant tracking system (ATS), screening applications, conducting phone-based interviews, coordinating on-site interviews and workwiths, consolidating feedback throughout all steps of the process, facilitating Data Integration discussions, helping hiring teams reach effective decisions, preparing offer letters, coordinating post-offer activities, and ensuring a New Hire is fully prepared for their start date. Responsible for maintaining the integrity and compliance of the Selection Process, upholding hiring standards, tracking key process measures, and maintaining effective communications with zone leadership. A successful Recruiter in this role will work well in a fast paced work environment to meet changing recruitment priorities to fill mostly hourly roles in addition to some exempt level roles as needed. If you have great multi-tasking ability, the ability to work both independently and as part of a recruitment team, and a customer centric personality then this may be the perfect role for you! This role is a customer facing role with high volume recruitment needs that manages a short recruitment life cycle.

PRIMARY ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain Taleo (online applicant tracking system) for all frontline applicants through entire selection process; generate reports as requested; ensure legal compliance at all times
  • Review applications, make initial screening decisions
  • Conduct screening and behavior-based Selection interviews by phone and make decisions about whether candidates should continue to the next step of the Selection process
  • Coordinate later stages of the Selection process, including work-withs, on-site interviews, offers, rejections, post-offer exams/assessments (eg, background checks, drug screens, medical/functional assessments), etc. Communicate with local leadership and candidates to ensure selection activities are executed properly and that all activities remain legally compliant
  • Gather data throughout Selection process, facilitate Data Integration meetings, lead hiring team to consensus decisions, ensure all required documentation is prepared and gathered, maintain applicant files
  • Gather process data to measure effectiveness of process, conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, generate periodic reports, etc.
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years College or equivalent experience minimum; college degree preferred
  • 1-2 years staffing/recruiting/hiring experience
  • Experience recruiting in a CPG (consumer product goods) environment is desired, but not required
  • Familiarity with Taleo or another similar applicant tracking system
  • Familiarity with general hiring practices, including legal guidelines related to hiring
  • Strong process-orientation and strong service-orientation
  • Ability to analyze data, draw inferences, and make judgments
  • Ability to influence peers, business partners, and vendors
  • Excellent behavior-based interviewing skills
  • Ability to consistently and reliably achieve desired results
  • Ability to manage high volume of work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong teamwork focus
