Supv IT Specialist (APPSW) at Picatinny Arsenal

JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is the Armys "Center of Lethality," and provides more than 90 percent of the Armys lethality to soldiers. ARDECs mission includes: improving already fielded items, developing new items, maintaining a strong armament technology base in government, industry and academia plus provide technical support to soldiers in the field.Picatinnys location is ideal for a variety of leisure activities, including summer and winter sports. The site itself offers excellent recreational facilities, including an employees club, tennis courts, softball diamonds, soccer fields, 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, water park and fitness center. Nearby New York City offers shopping, museums and theater. Atlantic City is within driving distance and professional sports fans will find the Giant, Mets, Yankees, and Knicks, among others.

 

Who May Apply:

Current Permanent Civilian ARDEC Employees (Career or Career Conditional) with Competitive Status within the commuting area. MUST submit a copy of SF-50 verifying eligibility to apply.

  • Provides strategic guidance to interdisciplinary teams
  • Manages execution of resources for projects and personnel
  • Integrates complex software intensive programs
  • Ensures implementation of program plans for projects
  • Improves program practices and processes

Specialized experience: To Qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-14/DE-04). Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with planning program plans through all phases of the software system life-cycle. Program plans include cost, deliverables AND schedules.

  • Ability to lead Multidiscipline Functional Business Software Engineering Teams

    - Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

    - One year trial/probationary period may be required.

    - You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

    - You must submit a Financial Disclosure Form annually

    - This is a Career Program 34 position

    - This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology workforce Critical Acquisition Position.  Acquisition Corps membership is required prior to appointment to a CAP unless a waiver is granted. Selectees must sign an Acquisition Corps written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least 3 years

    - Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 3 in acquisition Career Field -Information Technology within 24 months of entrance on duty.
