Overview:This is a one year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Assist with the determination of appropriate compensation and benefit levels in new Bard locations outside of the US. Guide and coordinate the ongoing assessment and determination of benefits and compensation provided to employees in existing Bard locations outside the US. Provide direction in the development and execution of compensation and benefits for international assignees. Essential Job Functions:
Work with preferred Bard vendor to identify statutory and market practice compensation and benefit requirements for new country start ups. Ensure timely establishment of resources needed to ensure successful set up of initial employees.
Assist in gathering market data on benefit programs in emerging markets. Understand and recommend competitive benefit programs as Bard establishes new businesses in geographies outside the US.
Assist in the process for gaining required corporate approvals to implement new benefit plans in international locations.
Gather salary market data to help prepare competitive employment offers in new country set ups including base salary, bonus, allowances, etc.
Provide guidance on job levels/banding appropriate for international locations.
Monitor and stay abreast of compensation and benefits and employment trends outside the US and ensure that resulting issues are addressed and resolved.
Inventory/review compensation and benefit programs outside the US in order to determine market and cost competitiveness as organizations grow.
Benefit vendor and consultant management.
Additional Expatriate Functions:
Establish and administer policy for relocation and compensation of inter-country personnel moves including expatriates, modified expats and local nationals.
Recommend appropriate approach for governing individual assignments; recommend compensation package including special allowances or benefits if needed. Prepare Compensation Worksheet (balance sheet).
Estimate and track multi year expenses associated with international assignments.
Draft assignment letters and manage all elements of the assignment through repatriation until completion.
Communicate with employees throughout their assignment; explain and answer questions, resolve questions arising from payroll or special payment, update Compensation Worksheets as salaries or allowances change, etc.
Oversee and coordinate visa and immigration filings as required working closely with employee and the third party vendor (law firm). Monitor the status of permits and ensure documents are requested and submitted in a timely manner.
Manage third party vendors responsible for tax planning, tax filing, relocation, cultural training, etc associated with the ongoing administration of various assignments.
