(Executive Director II)

 

The Executive Director for University Relations is responsible for:

• Development and execution of marketing and communications programs and policies that present the mission of the University to its multiple constituencies. 
• Reporting to the Office of the President, the Executive Director must ensure these programs and policies create a climate of public and private support for the fulfillment of the University’s mission. 
• The Executive Director provides recommendations on policy and action in the management of issues and crises affecting the university including, but not limited to, media relations, alumni relations, stakeholder relations and donor relations. 
• The Executive Director is also responsible for the management and coordination of all offices in the area of University Relations, including Media & Publications, Graphics & Design, Video & Film and the Print Center.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of seven years of successful and progressively more responsible management experience in working and communicating with multiple publics required. A Master’s degree and experience in higher education are preferred but not required. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in working with broadcast and print media; experience with social media platforms; and previous supervisory experience, preferably in the area of public relations, public information, communications or publications.
